Community guidelines
Last updated October 31, 2026
Midhull is a studio for everyone: people writing their first song, making one for someone they love, or entering this week’s challenge. These guidelines keep it a place where everyone wants to make music. They apply to songs, lyrics, covers, comments, profiles and dedications.
Make it yours
- Create from your own ideas. Do not upload recordings you do not have the rights to; we screen uploads for copyrighted music.
- Leave real artists out of your prompts. Describe the sound you want instead: the mood, the era, the instruments.
- Remixes keep their credit chain. Do not remove or fake who made the original.
Your voice is yours alone
A personal voice can only be built from your own voice, with a consent phrase you read yourself. Never use Midhull to imitate a real person’s voice.
Be kind, even in a roast
- Teasing between friends is part of music. Cruelty is not. No harassment, bullying, threats or songs made to humiliate someone.
- No hate: nothing that attacks people for who they are, including race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
- Dedications are about real people. Write about them the way you would want to be written about.
Keep it safe
- Nothing sexual involving anyone under 18, ever. We report it to the authorities.
- No sexual content in public spaces such as Discover, charts and challenges.
- No content that encourages violence, self harm or illegal activity. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a local helpline.
Play fair
- Charts, challenges and awards count real listening and real votes. Do not buy, trade or automate plays, votes or follows.
- Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not spam people with songs or invites.
- Keep other people’s private information private: no addresses, phone numbers or private messages in songs or comments.
Report and block
Every song, comment and profile has a report option, and you can block anyone. Reports are reviewed by people on our team, and the person you report is not told who reported them.
What happens next
Depending on what happened, we may remove content, limit where it shows, give a warning, or suspend an account. Serious harm, such as anything involving minors, leads to an immediate ban. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal from the app and a person will take a fresh look.
